Rustic cabinet doors and cabinets are typically made using knotty material such as knotty alder, knotty hickory, pecan or knotty cherry with cabinet doors in cope and stick designs that are very simple with little edge and panel detail. Rustic kitchens often make use of clear or very light natural wood finishes so the wood character shows through. Natural iron and stone accents and open pot and pan racks are also common elements of a rustic kitchen.
