Mid-century cabinet doors and kitchens, often referred to as mid-century modern, typically feature natural wood cabinets, natural stone floors, clean lines and rounded and smooth edges. Cabinet door construction in Mid-century modern cabinets is often 1-piece with no separate panel or applied molding, and slab doors with little detail. Another common feature of Mid century cabinets is horizontal wood grain and simple hardware with little ornamentation. Chrome hardware and fixtures were also popular. Countertops were often white or a pale shade of green, yellow or blue laminate. Turquoise and orange accents were also popular. White, plastic bar stools with chrome legs are another signature mid-century modern look.
